captured these stunning photographs in the Maldives. The particular location (Vaadhoo Island) has a concentrated population of bioluminescent phytoplankton. Bioluminescence is a natural chemical reaction which occurs when a micro-organism in the water reacts with oxygen. When washed ashore by the tides, the phytoplankton’s chemical energy is turned into light energy, illuminating the waves.

One of my habits is to write down all the crazy, fleeting ideas I have, then go back to review later rather than judging right off the bat, or even worse, forgetting them. Earlier in the month I was looking through that idea notepad and found “Make Tetris Pumpkins” from sometime last year. My original plan had been to make forms to shape pumpkins into Tetris pieces as they grew, then stack them together for Halloween. Since Halloween was only a few weeks away and it was too late to start growing pumpkins, I thought “Why not make a pumpkin you can play Tetris on instead?”

what my friends and I should be doing for the weekend.
- Started off my weekend with ACC at Hitunes! went karaokeing and got crunk af okay. Sang errthang including korean songs, Mercy, and Niggas in Paris. LOL what a fun group of people.
- After hours of glorious vocal chord exercising, we went out to dinner at Kerby Lane! My first time! mhmmmm goodness. Had some chicken that was covered in bacon in cheese and some cilantro looking sauce with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes!
- Den kevin picked me up and we went home to getz ready for Cici and Laney’s Halloween party. Got there around 12:30 and people were already drunk -__- came as an aviator and dragged Jeannette along who came as mickey mouse! haha omg this girl was getting stuff spilled on her all night!
- Post-party dinnger at Qdoba! had some good chicken quesadillas and then went home for a good nights sleep
- Saturday morning, woke up and watched Bruno on Netflix with bff Jeannette. Oh ma jeebus that movie is disgusting! We gave up on watching it after like, 1/3 went by. It was just so weird. and perverted. and non understandable.
- Bryan and his friends arrived in Austin and picked Jeannette and me up and we set out for Kerby Lane again for breakfast! Sadly, it was REALLY packed. I’m talking like, line around the restaurant packed. So instead we went down to TexMex! Had myself a Hawaiian burger yummmm. Bulgogi and Pineapple!
- After that we went Zekgnar because they wanted to check out some skating gear? Then we went to zeee mall because Jeannette and I are cold and need clothes. LOL We only ended up buying matching socks, some tights, and sandals. No long sleeve shirts ):
- Then we went to pick up vodka from Christina’s and Beer from Laney’s and headed home to drop everything off!
- Around 8/9ish we headed out to dinner at this Italian place across from Toyjoy! Jeannette stayed home and studied. What a studious student! haha Had some shrimp pesto pasta and then we headed over to Toy Joy for some AustinNewbie fun! Stayed there for about an hour and then headed over to San Jac to pick up Amy & Evan
- WHOP party waaas fuuuuun. I’m so happy that I actually threw an okay party. okay. LOL Highlights of the night: Jeannette is no longer allowed to get blackout level drunk, khanh is SO hyper when she’s drunk, Evan’s tolerance level is too high for Amy and I who had to drink after his chugging when playing kings cup and we got waterfall, Bryan has scary blotches when he drinks, Amy is so sick when she drinks lol and extreeemely touchy, Sang’s brother tried to go swimming in my apartment pool which was empty at the time due to renovations, my best friend was red and taking a million pictures, God I hate the taste of beer, Tammy: TWO CHAAAAINS, Khanh and Vicky stole Bryan’s food, Jeannette refuses to listen to people when drunk, and I lost my apartment key.
- Sunday Moarnin: errmygerd. Jeannette ended up on Kevin’s bed, Amy and Paul and Evan ended up passed out on the floor in Kevin’s room, Tom slept on Tony’s floor and tony was the only one who ended up on his own bed, vicky and tammy ended up sleeping on my bed because Jeannette took their original bed and so Bryan and me ended up on the floor in my room, Khanh ended up sleeping on the futon with Tate and Kelsy and poor Jose ended up on the cold living room floor LOL.
- errrr pretty much everyone slowly disappeared and we went out to eat Pho
- I got locked out when I came back for lack of key. (i tried to make a new one today and it didn’t work :( )
- Slept until 9pm with limited interruptions. lulz
- What a gewd weekend. gewd gewd gooooood.
